We recently commissioned the colour changing lighting controls for two public art installations in Lurgan and Portadown. The installations used a mix of colour changing and static white luminaires and have been very well received by the Council and the public alike. Colour changing was achieved with the iGuzzini Colour Quick system, a DALI based control unit with the facility to select static colours and several pre-programmed colour change sequences.
What's in the box?
We're in the dock- thankfully only the Titanic dry dock, where we've been helping Chroma Lighting with their iGuzzini Demo, providing on site technical assistance with temporary power supplies, controls etc.
Pay attention!
We've been fortunate to enjoy the company of Tim Posson from INOTEC in Germany, who gave us a very interesting presentation on the CLS system, a decentralised battery system that is in use in many education and healthcare premises throughout NI.
Work in progress
We're currently working on an interesting project; the refurbishment of pendants originally designed more than 70 years ago for the Whitla Hall at Queens University. We're just starting to strip off the layers of paint that appear to have been applied by a yard brush! The pendants will eventually be fitted with state of the art LED light sources throughout.
New premises!
Hardly news now, we're in a few months, but the place looks amazing and was purpose built for our operations. We've reused a shipping container, cut the back off to extend it, pushed one end out through our warehouse and fitted it out with work benches and storages for all the components we use.
